    Poona, a little hideaway village nestled in the State forest overlooking the Great Sandy Straits, the body of water that extends from Rainbow Beach & Tin Can Bay in the south to Hervey Bay at the northern end. Fraser Island, directly opposite makes Poona a really picturesque place. Fraser Island and the Great Sandy Straits are excellent for fishing & crabbing.
