Poona, a little hideaway village nestled in the State forest overlooking the Great Sandy Strait, the body of water that extends from Rainbow Beach & Tin Can Bay in the south to Hervey Bay at the northern end. Fraser Island, directly opposite makes Poona a really picturesque place. Fraser Island and the Great Sandy Straits are excellent for fishing & crabbing.

The accommodation is a 3 bedroom home situated right on the beach.

    • This beautifully renovated 3 bedroom Queenslander 'Gunadoo' is situated on the waterfront at Maaroom. A friendly little seaside village, Maaroom which is just 23 klms south of Maryborough on Great Sandy Strait is a great holiday spot for fishing & crabbing.

    A stay in Gunadoo (photo gallery) provides spectacular views across the Strait to the world heritage listed Fraser Island. Gunadoo is close to the boat ramp and is ideally situated for the family holiday sleeping up to 7 people. To make your stay comfortable there are-
